Blue Angel Air Show at Fort McHenry
An international parade of ships will sail into Baltimore’s Inner Harbor in June 2012 to launch the U.S. Bicentennial commemoration of the War of 1812. The U.S. Navy/OpSail event will consist of naval vessels, tall ships and air shows. Up to 40 grey hulls and tall ships from the U.S., British, Canadian and other navies of the world are expected to visit for this weeklong event. Celebrate America’s second war for independence with a visit to the patriotic city that gave us our National Anthem - the Star Spangled Banner!
DAY 1: Upon arrival in Baltimore you will have free time at the Tall Ships Festival.  This
afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing cruise aboard the Spirit of Baltimore including narration about the
ships and War of 1812 from the Inner Harbor to Fort McHenry.This evening we enjoy a
welcome dinner at an authentic Italian dinner in Baltimore’s infamous Little Italy. (D)
DAY 2: This morning visit the Star-Spangled Flag house. Here, you’ll step into living history as
you meet Mary Pickersgill, the spirited woman who made the flag. You'll learn first-hand from
Mary, her family and friends what life was like in the 19th century. Enjoy lunch on own and free
time at the Inner Harbor and Tall Ships Festival. This afternoon we depart for Fort McHenry. It
was over this site where Francis Scott Key watched “bombs bursting in air” through the night in
September 1814. Enjoy the Blue Angel Air show! (B)
