Friday: Step
back in time as we visit Heritage Farm Museum and Village which
recreates and preserves the Appalachian heritage. Tour a one room
schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, country stores and log homes. Tonight we
enjoy dinner and Blue Grass Entertainment. (D)
Saturday: We
depart from Huntington C & O depot for our scenic ride to Hinton. After
leaving the station, the train rolls through the Teays Valley area to
the Kanawha River near St. Albans, staying along the Kanaeha all the way
to the mouth of the New River at Gauley Bridge. The tracks follow the
New River for the remainder of the trip. This afternoon, the Hinton
State Fair offers local food stands, arts and crafts, entertainment, a
railroad museum, and many other attractions for your enjoyment. We
re-board the train for our return trip west; dinner will be served on
the train. (B, D)
