DAY 1: Today we travel across Pennsylvania and across most of New York. (D)
DAY 2: This morning we visit Vermont Marble Museum and Sutherland Quarry, where we learn about this
Vermont industry. The exhibit features president’s busts, restored chapel, and craftsmen at work. Take time
for lunch on your own in Middlebury, VT. This New England village is filled historic inns, shops and
eateries. Then we will see how time-honored skills and century-old tradition combine with the most modern
smokehouse facilities to produce ham, cheddar cheese, Pure Vermont Maple Syrup, and other specialty
foods known the world over for their unique flavor and wholesome goodness at Dakin Farm. The evening
is rounded out with a sunset dinner cruise featuring great views of the majestic Adirondack Mountains of
New York and the Green Mountains of Vermont. Be sure to ask your sweetie for a dance. (B,D)
DAY 3: This morning, “The Hills are Alive” on this one-of- a- kind guided tour of the Trapp Family Lodge.
Learn all about the “Sound of Music” family as you tour the property and grounds with the majestic Green
Mountains providing the magnificent back drop! There will be time for lunch on your own in the charming
New England village, Stowe Village. Save some room for ice cream because our next stop is to Ben and
Jerry’s Ice Cream facility. Tonight, enjoy a delicious dinner as you meander through the White Mountain’s
passes, notches and incredible vistas aboard the Hobo Scenic Railroad.(B,D)
DAY 4: This morning we travel New Hampshire’s most scenic roadway, the Kancamagus Highway, filled
with breath-taking, mountain vistas. Capture great foliage shots as we will make time for photos!!! We will
stop for a photo-op in North Conway at an Austrian-style train station, nestled in the White Mountains.
Visit Zeb’s, a true New England Country Store, filled with New England products, crafts and antiques. You
will have time for lunch on your own at one of the quaint Main Street cafés. After lunch you will go wild
over the majestic forest animals at the Maine Moose Safari and Nature Tour. Get in touch with nature as
you tour through some of the most picturesque locations in Grafton Notch State Park in search of Moose.
Throughout the tour, your experienced local tour guide will tell you all you need to know about moose,
their habits and even some fun facts you won’t hear anywhere else. (B,D)
DAY 5: This morning is a tour of Bumpus Mine, the most productive mine in the region. Trained staff will
help you identify your treasures (you keep them!). Common gems - quartz, beryl, rose quartz, feldspar,
smoky quartz, and mica. You won't leave empty handed.
National Wife Carrying Contest and Festival - How much fun is this??? Carried on National TV, your
resort is the host of this prestigious competition with couples competing for the finals in Finland. It’s both
athletic and hilarious at the same time. Enjoy musical entertainment that lasts all afternoon, munch on local
fare and visit the huge crafts fair. Later this afternoon we travel to the Sunday River, which offers scenic
rides on its Chondola lift to the top of North Peak, giving visitors spectacular views of the Mahoosuc
Mountains and across the Sunday River Valley. (B,D)
DAY 6: Discover charming Kennebunkport including views of the Bush Estate, Wedding Cake House and
Franciscan Monastery. Hear the history of this Maine coastal community. Take time to browse the many
shops and galleries on the waterfront of Kennebunkport. Stop for a photo-op at Maine’s most
photographed Lighthouse, Nubble Light. Try your luck this evening at the country’s largest casino
complex or browse the many shops. (B,D)
DAY 7: Before departing for home, we will experience the lifestyle and interesting artifacts of the “Age of
Sail” as we tour Mystic Seaport. Board a New England Tall Ship. Discover the dangers and adventures of
Whaling aboard the 19th century whale ship, CHARLES W. MORGAN. (B)
