DAY 1 –
MONDAY – JULY 19 - ARRIVE IN
SEATTLE – The Evergreen State welcomes you today as
you arrive in Seattle, the “Emerald City.” Your tour
director will meet you at the airport in a central location at 3:00pm.
(*Please arrive at the SeaTac Airport before 3:00pm) Then
transfer to downtown Seattle and check in for a two night stay. After some
free time to settle in and relax, join the group for a welcome
dinner. (D)
DAY 2 –
TUESDAY – JULY 20 - SEATTLE – This morning depart
for a tour of Seattle including the historic downtown
area, Pioneer Square and the Seattle Center for a ride to the top of the
Space Needle. Then visit Pike Place Market,
the oldest continuously-operating market in the United States. You will
have time for lunch on own and to shop at this fascinating multi-level
bazaar, where you can buy anything from an old clock to an octopus! In the
late afternoon board a cruise ship for a scenic ride across Puget Sound to
Tillicum Village where you will experience Native
American history and culture. Enjoy a salmon feast followed by native
dance and music before returning across the sound with a spectacular view
of Seattle’s nighttime skyline. (B,D)
DAY 3 – WEDNESDAY – JULY 21 - SEATTLE -
PORTLAND - Depart Seattle and travel to Tacoma
where you will visit the intriguing Museum of Glass. Continue
your journey south to Mt. St. Helen’s National Volcanic Monument
where you will witness nature’s awesome destructive power along with it’s
incredible ability to recover. Arrive in Portland, the “City of Roses,”
for a tour of the city including the famous Portland Rose Gardens. Check
into the hotel in downtown Portland for a two-night stay. (B)
DAY 4 – THURSDAY – JULY 22- COLUMBIA
RIVER GORGE - Depart this morning for sightseeing of the
famed Columbia River Gorge including Multnomah Falls,
Bonneville Dam and the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center. After lunch on
own, travel along the Hood River with spectacular views of Mt.
Hood stopping at the Timberline Lodge. On the way back to
Portland, visit The End of the Oregon Trail Museum in
Oregon City. Tonight join the group for a fun German dinner at the
Rheinlander. (B,D)
DAY 5 – FRIDAY – JULY 23 - OREGON COAST - This morning you will depart your hotel south through the Willamette Valley to the lush Coastal Mountains while on your way to the scenic Oregon Coast. You'll stop in Lincoln City for lunch, then have the opportunity to see the world's shortest river - the D~River - and the world's smallest harbor, Depoe Bay. Continue down the coast to Newportfor touring of the Oregon Aquarium and the Oceanographic Museum. After checking into your hotel in Newport, the evening is free to explore on your own. (B,L)
DAY 6 – SATURDAY – JULY 24 - OREGON COAST
- SAND DUNES - The Oregon Coast is famous as
one of North America's top ten most scenic drives. You
will stop at Cape Perpetua, then continue on to the
National Dunes Recreation Area for an exciting
Dune Buggy Ride. In the afternoon, you'll arrive in Coos Bay, to
tour the House of Myrtlewood. Tour the facility and do a
little souvenir hunting before continuing your journey south along the
coast. You will be arriving in Gold Beach for an
overnight stay at Jot’s Resort. (B,D)
DAY 7 – SUNDAY – JULY 25 – ROGUE RIVER
JET BOAT - REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK - This morning awaken with
anticipation of a jet boat ride on the Rogue
River. Afterward, reboard the motorcoach for a visit to
Redwood National Park, and lunch at the Trees of Mystery. Later,
you'll continue on to Humboldt State Park. Then get ready for an overnight
stay in the heart of California's redwood country in Eureka,
California. (B,L)
DAY 8 – MONDAY – JULY 26 - EUREKA - SAN
FRANCISCO – Today you will continue on into
California's Wine Country, stopping at a winery in Sonoma,
Napa Valley to taste some of the finest vintages produced in the
world! After and included lunch, cross the Golden Gate Bridge
into San Francisco, where you are free for the remainder
of the day to do some shopping and exploring. Overnight on
Fisherman’s Wharf. (B,L)
DAY 9 – TUESDAY – JULY 27 -
SAN
FRANCISCO
- Explore the "gateway to the Orient" this morning as
you enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing tour of San Francisco. See
the Civic Center, Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, the Presidio,
Chinatown, and much more. After this delightful chance to
become better acquainted with San Francisco, the rest of the afternoon is
free for you to continue exploring on your own. This evening join your
fellow passengers for a farewell banquet at one of the restaurants on
Pier 39. (CB,D)
DAY 10 – WEDNESDAY – JULY 28 - JOURNEY
HOME – Morning transfer to the San Francisco Airport. As your
flight departs, relax and think back on the wonderful memories that you
are taking home with you. (CB)
